Head of Academy
Benazir Poya, a clinical psychology graduate from Isfahan University, has experience of working with the Johanniter International Organization in Afghanistan as a trainer, gender and protection officer, and also has a managerial background in several educational institutions. Ms. Poya has been continuously involved in psychological and educational activities, as well as advocacy for the rights of Afghan women.
Deputy of Anar Academy
Stefan Frischauf is an accomplished architect and urban planner with extensive experience in sustainable urban development.
With a background in regeneration programs and sustainable urban planning, he has a deep connection with Afghanistan and remains passionate about engaging with Afghan communities. As the Deputy of Anar Academy, he brings his expertise to support the academy’s mission of providing quality education for Afghan girls.
Plan and Strategy Director
Dr. Ali Arefi is a Ph.D. in Global Studies, Department of Peace Studies, in Tokyo University of Foreign Studies. He received his master’s degree in the same field from Tokyo University of Foreign Studies and his bachelor’s degree in international business management from the National University of Mongolia. He is currently the program coordinator of Hiroshima Peacemakers Center in Japan.
Project Manager
Juliane Bandelow, a dedicated human rights activist from Germany, possesses a diverse skill set that includes medical expertise and a deep appreciation for art and culture. With a fervent commitment to creating a fair and compassionate world, Juliane leverages her experiences working with refugees and Afghans to promote transnational, individual, and intercultural growth. She operates an online platform supporting exiled Afghan artists, facilitates the evacuation of individuals in peril. It should be mentioned that she has completed many projects successfully, and is currently pursuing studies in human medicine.
Education Specialist
Najibullah Etumadi is a graduate of the UNESCO International Institute for Educational Planning in Paris and holds a degree in Philosophy and Sociology from the Faculty of Social Sciences at Kabul University. He has worked as an educational specialist and expert with UNESCO’s IIEP in Afghanistan and as a consultant and literacy expert at the Ministry of Education of Afghanistan. He is also an educational and cultural activist and advocate for women’s education in Afghanistan.
HR and Administration
Anisah Turkmani, born in Parwan Province, is knowledgeable in law with years of experience in the field of law and criminal justice during Government of the Islamic Republic of Afghanistan. Ms. Turkmani is an active member of a newspaper’s editorial board and has a career history in defending women’s rights, combating illiteracy, and engaging in educational and administrative activities.
Head Master
Zahra Etemadi, a graduate in Philosophy and Sociology from Kabul University’s Faculty of Social Sciences, also holds a degree in Physics from the Institute of Education and Training of Sayed Jamaluddin Afghan in Kabul. Ms. Etemadi has over seven years of teaching experience in physics and geography at government schools in Kabul, and has served as an administrative deputy in a school and as a head teacher in a high school in western Kabul.
