The non-profit organization Anar is enthusiastic about providing educational opportunities for Afghan girls and advocating for their right to access high-quality education.
Recent actions by the Taliban have significantly restricted young girls’ access to education, leading to a new crisis in educational access and gender inequality in the country.
Anar Academy, recognizing these challenges, has been established to provide educational services free of charge by creating a suitable online and in-person platform.
On March 23, Anar Academy simultaneously launched its new academic year and pilot phase with 223 students selected by the admission committee from over a thousand applicants based on predetermined academy criteria, coinciding with the reopening of schools in Afghanistan for the year 1403.
The number of students accepted in each class is as follows:
Seventh grade – 50 students
Eighth grade – 38 students
Ninth grade – 39 students
Tenth grade – 30 students
Eleventh grade – 34 students
Twelfth grade – 30 students
The practical activities of this institution, including online classes designed on a dedicated platform for educational management by the academy, allow students to study safely online, in addition to classes from seventh to twelfth grade and the provision of some other courses such as the complete nursing course and various technical and specialized courses to qualified individuals.
The academy emphasizes access to a quality and reputable education system recognized in Germany and Europe, starting its pilot phase while defining the main goal of achieving a curriculum based on global standards as its primary goal this year, and this one-year pilot course will continue its work by providing a hybrid educational system.
In this educational course, some subjects are presented to students based on the German educational system, including the German language, strengthening personal skills, human rights concepts, and religions, while other subjects such as Pashto language and scientific topics relate to republic-related discussions. Subjects such as history, English, and Persian literature will be presented to students in a new way. This method aims to create a comprehensive and up-to-date learning environment that familiarizes students with international education values and concepts.
Anar Academy’s activities are not limited to the Virtual World. In addition to online classes, Anar has quietly launched physical schools in Herat, Takhar, and Kabul for 112 girls.
Anar calls on the global community to show solidarity with girls deprived of education in Afghanistan and collectively stand up for educational opportunities for girls in Afghanistan. Anar Academy invites all other educational institutions to join the “Education for All” alliance and create a movement to promote educational justice for all.
